ELECTRIC STAR DROP INFORMATION

STAR DROPS ARE BEAUTIFUL BUT VERY DELICATE AND EASILY DAMAGED

1. CIRCUITS. EACH CURTAIN HAS 3 SEPARATE CIRCUITS THAT CONTROL THE LIGHTS AT THE TOP, CENTER, AND BOTTOM OF THE CURTAIN. 2. ELECTRIC SPECIFICATIONS & ELECTRIC DRAW.
  1. EACH DROP DRAWS LESS THAN 2 AMPS OF ELECTRICITY (ABOUT 200 WATTS TOTAL).
  2. THE CURTAIN'S TRANSFORMER BOX STEPS THE VOLTAGE DOWN FROM 110 VOLTS TO 24 VOLTS. THE DROP USES 110 HOUSEHOLD CURRENT ONLY.
  • BULB TYPE & LAYOUT PATTERN. EACH STAR DROP HAS APPROXIMATELY 150 SYLVANIA MINIATURE LAMP BULBS SET INTO THE DROP IN A RANDOM PATTERN.
  • TRANSFORMER BOX AND PLUGS. EACH STAR DROP HAS A TRANSFORMER BOX WITH 3 CABLES WHICH PLUG INTO THE CURTAIN. THE TRANSFORMER BOX IS THEN PLUGGED INTO A POWER SOURCE OR CONTROL BOARD.
    1. THE EXTENSION CABLE THAT CONNECTS THE TRANSFORMER BOX TO THE POWER SOURCE IS EQUIPPED WITH A NORMAL (EDISON) GROUNDED PLUG.
    2. THE TRANSFORMER BOX CAN BE TIED TO PIPE OR TRACK TO ENABLE THE STAR DROP TO "FLY" OR "TRAVEL".
    3. THE STAR DROP'S BRIGHTNESS CAN BE CONTROLLED BY A DIMMER BOARD, IF A GHOST LIGHT IS ADDED TO THE BOARD ON THE SAME SIDE AS THE STAR DROP TRANSFORMER BOX LEADS. THE GHOST LIGHT INCREASES THE AMOUNT OF ELECTRIC POWER DRAW AND ENABLES THE DIMMER BOARD TO "RECOGNIZE" THE PRESENCE OF THE STAR DROP.
    5. OPERATION. THE STAR DROP MUST BE PLUGGED FIRST INTO ITS TRANSFORMER BOX AND THE TRANSFORMER BOX PLUGGED INTO A WALL SOCKET, DIMMER BOARD, OR OTHER DIRECT POWER SOURCE. ALWAYS PLUG THE STAR DROP FIRST INTO ITS TRANSFORMER BOX, THEN PLUG THE TRANSFORMER BOX INTO THE POWER SOURCE. IF THE STAR DROP IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO AN ELECTRIC POWER SOURCE, THE STAR DROP'S BULBS WILL BURN OUT IMMEDIATELY. a. IF THE STAR DROP IS TO "FLY" OR TRAVEL, IT MUST BE RAISED UP OR MOVED OVER SLOWLY SO AS TO REDUCE OVERALL STRESS ON THE FABRIC AND WEBBING. 1. 6. LOADING, INSTALLATION. & UNLOADING. THE STAR DROP HAS AN INTRICATE AND DELICATE ELECTRIC WIRING HARNESS ATTACHED TO ITS BACK AND BULBS THAT ARE EASILY BROKEN. a. ALWAYS LIFT AND CARRY THE STAR DROP FROM TRUCK TO LOADING SITE. NEVER DROP IT OR DRAG IT ALONG THE FLOOR. NEVER ALLOW PROPS OR OTHER CURTAINS TO BE STACKED ON IT. b. BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE STAR DROP FROM ITS BAG. UNROLL IT VERY SLOWLY TO PREVENT ITS WIRING HARNESS FROM GETTING TANGLED OR PULLED APART. c. ONCE THE STAR IS LAID OUT, CHECK THE CURTAIN TO MAKE SURE ITS BULBS ARE INSERTED TIGHTLY, AND ALL WIRES ARE SECURELY CONNECTED. THE CURTAIN'S PROTECTIVE BACKING IS SECURED WITH VELCRO AND IS EASILY REMOVED FOR THIS PURPOSE. d. ATTACH THE STAR DROP'S TIE LINES TO TRACK OR PIPE AND RAISE THE DROP SLOWLY INTO POSITION TO AVOID STRESSING THE WIRE HARNESS. e. PLUG THE STAR DROP FIRST INTO ITS TRANSFORMER BOX. THEN PLUG THE TRANSFORMER BOX INTO THE POWER SOURCE OR DIMMER BOARD. i. WARNING. IF THE STAR DROP IS PLUGGED DIRECTLY INTO A POWER SOURCE OR DIMMER BOARD, ITS BULBS WILL BURN OUT IMMEDIATELY. f. WHEN UNLOADING, LOWER THE STAR DROP SLOWLY ONTO A CLEAN FLOOR. FOLD IT CAREFULLY TO AVOID SNAGGING OR STRESSING ITS WIRING HARNESS. g. WHEN REPACKING THE STAR DROP, FOLD IT WITH ITS ELECTRIC WIRING HARNESS INSIDE AND ITS ELECTRIC BULBS FACING OUT.
